• Prior administrative experience in higher education, the healthcare system, or related professional settings
• Experience with medical student career advising at a Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accredited medical school
• Familiarity with the AAMC Careers in Medicine programs and resources
• Experience coaching, advising, and/or leading others.

Essential Functions and percent of time

• Develop and support existing career development and exploration programming, including workshops, "Careers in Medicine" series, and CV development..
• Provide mentorship and guidance to students to help clarify early career goals and align coursework and extracurricular experiences with future specialty interests.
• Coordinate and expand observership and shadowing opportunities with local faculty, physician, student organization, and hospital systems, ensuring regulatory guideline and parameters with Office of General Counsel, Department of Medical Education, and Student Affairs.
• Support interprofessional relationship building with local health partners: organize with medical professionals on preceptorship opportunities and educational sessions for students.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Advancement to promote programs, alumni networking, and mentoring opportunities.
• Assist with curricular review by working with academic and student affairs leadership on providing key concepts and organization of presentations for career appropriate topics.

• Plan and coordinate Specialty Fairs/Panels and Presentations as well as networking events in collaboration with stakeholders, BSOM residency programs, alumni, and external partners to increase career awareness and highlight elective opportunities.
• Provide guidance on alternative career paths in alignment with LCME/AAMC standards.
• Support the structured advising milestones (M1 to M4), ensuring all students receive timely guidance aligned with AAMC Careers in Medicine frameworks
• Coach students experiencing uncertainty, career pivot considerations, or difficulty aligning strengths with specialty demands.
• Collaborate with medical education leaders to interpret academic performance data and understand implications for residency competitiveness.
• Collaborate with Marketing on the facilitation of student awareness of career services and value formation (i.e. Newsletter)

• Support student application development by guiding them through the full ERAS and NRMP Match process, providing detailed instructions on deadlines, requirements, and best practices
• In collaboration with leadership, provide support for students reapplying or entering subsequent match cycles, ensuring alignment with best practices and institutional policies.
• In collaboration with relevant stakeholders, provide support for individualized review of the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) that includes an objective summary of the student's salient experiences, attributes, and academic performance
• Support logistics and execution of advanced milestones, such as Match Day and Graduation, in collaboration with the Career Services team and OSAA.

• Collaborate with OSAA to monitor student progress through required milestones
• Facilitate compilation of career advising metrics for LCME accreditation, internal audit, and leadership reporting.
• Participate in an annual post-MATCH analysis. Match trends to identify factors and trends to Office of Student Success and other appropriate parties
