About This Role
Hudson County Community College (HCCC) seeks an Assistant Director for the Nursing Program, to join its award-winning and nationally recognized institution.
Reporting to the Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences, the Director of Nursing directs the overall operations, daily activities, staff, and faculty of the Nursing program in support of the College’s mission statement and in accordance with established goals and objectives, policies, and procedures of the Nursing and Health Sciences Division.
Summary of Duties
What You’ll Do:
- In consort with the Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences, develops short-term and long-term strategic planning initiatives that support the College’s mission statement and offer quality educational programs and services in the Health disciplines to students.
- Defines, develops, implements, and monitors effective policies and procedures that support the goals and objectives of the Nursing Program.
- Oversees and directs the ongoing activities of the Nursing Program to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness and positive outcomes of overall operations.
- Ensures excellence of course curriculum and instruction through the recruitment, appointment, reappointment, and professional development of faculty.
- Establishes and maintains various program documentation and records.
- Oversees all regulatory standards are being met.
- Provides support for the development of grants and participates in the proposal-writing process.
- Provides overall direction and ongoing supervision to the staff of the Nursing Program.
- Secures clinical sites at hospitals and health care agencies and develops contracts to provide clinical experiences for students.
- Develops and recommends the annual program budget to the Dean.
- Actively participates in the development and implementation of policies specific to the nursing program.
- Continues to develop professional and management skills through independent research, networking, attending seminars and workshops.
- Serves as an active member of various internal and external committees.
Qualifications
What You’ll Need:
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Minimum of three years of teaching
- Relevant administrative experience in curriculum/course development, review and implementation, and oversight of faculty and staff
- Engagement in student success initiatives
- Commitment to promoting equitable outcomes for nursing students
- Engagement with the pre-nursing cohort, assessment of outcomes, and commitment to continuous improvement
