Assistant Director of Athletic Tickets

Job Summary

The Assistant Director Athletic Tickets is responsible for facilitating Athletics Ticket Office goals and objectives by assisting the Associate Athletics Director for Ticket Operations with daily ticket office operations and events; assisting in hiring, training and scheduling student workers and temporary, part-time event staff.

Duties & Essential Job Functions

  1. Develops ticket sales plans and objectives by interacting with coaches, sport administrators and marketing; assisting with design and implementation of marketing plan for sports.
  2. Maintains customer data by updating information on computerized ticket system.
  3. Works closely with the sport administrators and marketing department to develop ticket sales plans.
  4. Implements policies by supervising ticket sales and distribution of complimentary tickets at events in accordance with NCAA regulations.
  5. Maintains and reports ticket information by creating and maintaining each new sport season on ticket office computerized ticket system; developing and monitoring online ticket sales capabilities using the computerized ticket system; creating post-event and end-of-year ticket sales reports; assisting with Priority Points calculation to determine seat locations.
  6. Supports ticket office operations by representing the ticket office at designated away game and post-season events.
  7. Accomplishes staff objectives by hiring, training, disciplining and scheduling event staff and student workers; maintenance of time sheets and payroll.
  8. Manage public relations by maintaining positive relationships with donors, students, faculty and staff.
  9. Acts as liaison by serving as event supervisor for assigned sports.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2 years of Paciolan Ticketing software experience.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • 1 year of experience in a collegiate ticket office.

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training

  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Must be insurable under the university motor vehicle requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of computerized ticket systems and reporting, particularly Paciolan Ticketing software.
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic office techniques.
  • Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics and NCAA policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of creating and maintaining each new sport season on ticket office computerized ticket system.
  • Knowledge of developing and monitoring online system for sales using the computerized ticket system.
  • Knowledge of creating and updating end of year sales reports.
  • Knowledge of priority points calculations based on information received from development and ticket systems.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally.
  • Ability to evaluate and make recommendations to improve operations.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel to selected off-campus events.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations)

  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
  • Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
  • Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
  • Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Work is indoors and outdoors and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
  • This position requires travel weekdays and weekends.
  • There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
  • The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
