Serve as the primary lead and resource for assigned Career
Communities, staying current on industry trends, career pathways,
recruiting practices, and the evolving impact of AI on careers and
the workforce.
Educate students, faculty, and staff by sharing career
resources, industry insights, employment opportunities, and
emerging trends related to assigned Career Communities.
Strive to reach and positively impact every Rollins student
throughout their college experience by providing personalized
guidance and opportunities that support their career development
and preparation for life after graduation.
Develop and facilitate career-related programs, workshops,
networking events, and experiential opportunities that support
students pursuing careers within assigned Career
Communities.
Collaborate with Career & Life Planning colleagues,
faculty, employers, alumni, and campus partners to advance student
engagement and contribute to the success of the broader Career
Communities framework.
High Impact Programs & Partnerships
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance a portfolio of
career exploration and experiential learning programs, including
mentoring, networking, career immersions, job shadowing, pre-med
observerships, and other initiatives that foster student
engagement, professional growth, and career readiness.
- Oversee the Career Champions suite of programs, including the
Career Champions Mentor Program, Champion in Residence, Chat with a
Champ, flash mentoring, and related networking initiatives that
connect students with alumni, employers, and
professionals.
- Manage program operations, including participant recruitment,
communications, training, logistics, facilitation, assessment,
reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Cultivate collaborative partnerships with alumni, faculty,
campus partners, and community organizations to expand career
exploration and experiential learning opportunities.
- Assess student needs, program effectiveness, and emerging
trends to strengthen existing initiatives and identify
opportunities for innovation and growth.
Supervision
- Hire, train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate graduate
assistants, student employees, and Relationship Managers supporting
career exploration initiatives.
- Provide leadership and professional development for student
staff, including primary supervision of the Graduate Assistant for
Career Exploration.
Departmental & Institutional Engagement
- Advance departmental and institutional priorities through
collaborative programs, partnerships, and student engagement
initiatives.
- Contribute to departmental planning, assessment, and continuous
improvement initiatives.
- Enhance competencies related to career development,
accessibility, belonging, and student engagement while integrating
new knowledge into departmental programs and services.
- Represent the Center for Career & Life Planning through
campus partnerships, professional associations, conferences, and
community engagement.
Minimum
Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or
college.
- At least two years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in higher education, student affairs,
counseling, human resources, organizational leadership, or a
related field.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with
department constituents including faculty, staff, students, alumni,
employers, parents, and vendors, while establishing and maintaining
positive working relationships.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of today's world of work
and its relationship to student's academic preparation.
- Experience working with and building relationships with diverse
populations.
- Familiarity with latest trends, legal issues and best practices
pertaining to experiential learning, career development, job search
and social media/marketing strategies.
- Understanding and familiarity with multiple areas of
professional development pertaining to career exploration,
application and interview processes, including job searching,
resume and cover letter writing, and interviewing
techniques.
- Ability to develop, implement and evaluate programs that engage
a wide range of audiences, including traditionally and
non-traditionally aged students, alumni, parents, employers,
faculty and staff.
- Knowledge, skill and proficiency in using a variety of computer
software programs including Word, Excel,
- Access, and various social media platforms.
- Ability to analyze information and make judgment-based
decisions.
- Possess strong written and oral communication
skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to change.
Work Environment:
- Campus-based, in-person customer service role, working in an
office environment.
- Regular use of a computer and databases.
- Flexible scheduling and must be willing to work occasional
evenings and weekends to meet department needs.
