Job Description:
Longwood University seeks applicants for the Assistant Director of CBE Student Success (FA048) in
the College of Business and Economics (CBE). The Assistant Director for CBE Student Success will support academic advising, employer
engagement, and event operations. This role is responsible for helping students navigate academic and professional pathways, strengthening
relationships with employers, and coordinating programs and events that advance student success and career readiness.
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities:
College of Business and Economics Student Advising:
- Provide academic advising
to students regarding degree requirements, major and career exploration, course selection, academic policies, and progress toward
graduation. - Help develop and implement advising programs, workshops, and student success initiatives.
- Collaborate with
faculty, staff, academic departments, student services, and campus partners to support student retention and graduation. - Support
data collection, reporting, and assessment efforts related to advising outcomes and student success. - Assist with student onboarding
programs such as orientation, CBE first-year experience course, and other activities. - Manage academic honor society for the
college.
CBE Student Success and McGaughy Internship and Professional Development Center Events and Administrative
Support:
- Coordinate planning and execution of signature events for CBE Student Success and McGaughy Internship and
Professional Development Center. - Assist with event and program communications, marketing development and
distribution. - Verify and submit expense reports and invoices for events and programs
- Work with potential employers, campus
partners, and community members to plan and execute professional development and student success events. - Maintain and order
inventory for teams
This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University's
campus.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, communication, or any related field from an accredited
institution. - Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required, along with the ability to work effectively
with students, faculty, staff, employers, and external partners. - Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills,
attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. - Proficiency with standard office technology and
ability to learn the Banner system in a short period of time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience
advising or supporting undergraduate students in a higher education setting, particularly in academic advising, internships, career
services, student success, or employer relations is preferred. - Experience planning and coordinating student-focused programs, career
events, employer engagement activities, or professional development initiatives.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, administrative & professional faculty, exempt position. The anticipated salary range for this position will be
$45,000 to $50,000 annually. A successful fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and
other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
