Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Development, Planned Giving manages a portfolio of planned giving prospects and supports the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of planned and blended gifts to advance the University's long-term philanthropic goals. This position also strengthens the planned giving pipeline by coordinating legacy donor engagement, supporting estate administration processes, and building relationships with professional advisors and campus partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of planned giving prospects and donors to cultivate, solicit, secure and steward planned and blended gifts.
- Build and maintain relationships with professional advisors, including attorneys, financial planners, and estate professionals, to enhance referral networks and expand the planned giving pipeline.
- Conduct legacy donor outreach and support tracking and coordination related to planned gift documentation and estate matters.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
- Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $5,274 (Step 1) - $6,303 (Step 10) per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
- CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $5,274 (Step 1) - $7,684 (Step 20) per month.

Education and Experience
- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of related experience required.
- Experience in higher education or nonprofit fundraising, with knowledge of planned giving and familiarity with estate or financial planning concepts is preferred.
Licenses / Certificates
- Valid California Driver's License required.
Employees who are required to operate motorized vehicles and/or use their personal vehicle more than once a month on University business are required to take a mandatory Defensive Driving course and enroll in the DMV Employee Pull Notice (EPN) Program.
