Assistant Director of Financial Aid - TIV Programs
Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Financial Aid - TIV Programs coordinates the administration, processing, awarding, and reporting requirements of the Bishop State Financial Aid Office for all Title IV aid.

- Answer numerous calls and emails a day from students that involve resolving aid issues and concerns pertaining to all aspects of financial aid
- Attends meetings, as required
- Collaborates with various departments as a financial aid resource
- Utilizes the QLess System to track and notify students that Financial Aid is available to assist them once they sign in
- Provides frontline customer service and assistance to students and parents as needed
- Serves as Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal processor and Appeals Committee Chair for the Financial Aid Office
- Serves as liaison to Inceptia (f PS for federal verification) to maintain Verification Gateway portal daily operations and resolve any student issues
- Counsels all students and prepares all documentation for individuals who are requesting any form of Professional Judgment for review by the Financial Aid Director
- Prepares all V4N5 reporting, as required by the U.S. Department of Education
- Packages and disburses federal student aid based on regulations set forth by the U.S. Department of Education
- Monitors students and communicates with Advising and faculty advisors to ensure all courses are within the student's program of study, as required for accurate Pell Grant disbursement
- Performs monthly audits of the FSEOG program to ensure compliance
- Completes all Data load processes daily and works all associated reports, including ATB students, subsequent ISIR review, SAP status review, and all error logs
- Serves as a community liaison for Financial Aid, presenting at outreach initiatives and workshops pertaining to FAFSA - Day, Evening, and Weekends - high schools, community centers, etc
- Trains and supervises all frontline staff members
- Serves as alternate School Certifying Official (SCO)
- Prepares reports as needed for the President, Financial Services, Dean of Students, and/or Financial Aid Director
- Complies with all policies of the U.S. Department of Education, the Alabama Community College System, the College, and the Financial Aid Office
- Acts as Co-Director in the absence of the Director of Financial Aid
- Performs other related work as assigned
Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Learned physical skill is required for keyboarding. Frequent walking, standing, or sitting may be required. Working hours may vary and occasional evening or weekend work is required. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, education, or other related field required. Five years student financial aid experience required.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with Ellucian Banner in a higher education setting.

The Selection Committee will screen all applicants for the position.
