Job Description:
The Assistant Director of Graduate Enrollment is responsible for a range of duties associated with the enrollment of graduate students in the Maxwell School. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our graduate enrollment communications, will lead the coordination and management of the Maxwell Alumni Ambassador Program, and will assist with recruitment outreach, engagement, and events.
This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in higher education administration, communications, or related field from an accredited university is required (masters degree strongly preferred) and at least 5 years of relevant professional experience overall.
- Experience in marketing or communications, including utilization of marketing automation platforms, website content management software, and customer relationship management systems.
- Experience in recruitment and enrollment, preferably at the graduate level for a nonprofit institution.
- Excellent project management skills are required; must be able to work collaboratively and independently to complete projects on deadline.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and highly collaborative nature and proven ability to work as part of a team; ability to facilitate work between a wide range of individuals and groups including prospective students, alumni, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds and campus departments is important for success.
- Capacity to develop understanding of the departments graduate programs to explain to prospective students.
- Utilize excellent oral, written, and public presentation skills.
- Commitment to promoting an inclusive community where differing points of view and experience are valued as mutual opportunities for learning.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Willingness and comfortability with learning new technologies.
- Experience with admission CRM systems, specifically Technolutions Slate.
- Dedication to high professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information.
- Adaptable and confident problem solver, able to generate actionable insights by analyzing data.
- Expertise in writing for a variety of audiences and experience creating marketing content.
- Understanding of best practices of marketing automation, email marketing, and customer relationship management.
- Knowledge of best practices around email deliverability, copy effectiveness and an understanding of current relevant laws and regulations (e.g. CAN-SPAM/CASL/GDPR) as well as current industry standards and techniques for digital content creation and management.
- Experience with graphic design and Adobe design software is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Management of Enrollment Communications - With a particular focus on the professional masters programs, continue to develop and refine our enrollment communication plan across all phases of the student enrollment lifecycle. This involves research and analysis of best practices in student communications, development and maintenance of content calendars, creation and curation of content across an array of multimedia channels (including serving as the communications lead in our admission CRM, Technolutions (Slate), managing vendor relationships for the procurement of various recruitment materials, and providing analysis and recommendations for continuous improvements.
- Assist with the development and execution of paid marketing campaigns including visual creative, copy writing, and overall support for the campaigns.
- Management of the Maxwell Alumni Ambassador Program - In coordination with the Director of Graduate Enrollment and Director of Alumni Relations, manage all aspects of the ambassador program for graduate alumni. This includes coordination of outreach initiatives and the volunteer application/training/on-boarding processes, maintaining ambassador information and records, and ensuring our ambassadors are being utilized to support Maxwells graduate recruitment and enrollment goals.
- Direct Recruitment - Providing in-depth school/program/admission details and career opportunities via phone, email, online/virtual, and in-person engagement to prospective students. This will include limited off-campus travel for recruitment purposes, participation in on-campus and online recruitment activities, and various yield outreach and events.
