Job Description

Do you love fresh strategies, big ideas, and building something new from the ground up? Are you energized by connecting with people and making an impact, while having a little fun along the way? Stetson University is looking for an innovative, strategic professional to serve as our Assistant Director of Regional Recruitment for Georgia. This isn't just a recruiting role; it's a chance to be Stetson's trailblazer in Georgia. You'll design and execute a recruitment strategy, represent Stetson at events, and connect with students and families through calls, emails, texts, and in-person conversations.

A key part of your success will come from working with the Atlanta Alumni Chapter to strengthen Stetson's brand across Georgia. Together, you'll collaborate on programs, host events, and engage alumni as powerful partners in recruitment, building a bridge between Stetson's past and future.

While this position requires residency in Georgia, candidates in the greater Atlanta metro area are strongly preferred given the close connection to the Atlanta Alumni Chapter and key recruitment markets. Occasional travel to DeLand, Florida, will be required for training, strategy meetings, and major events.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Employment duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and drive Georgia strategy. Build and execute a dynamic recruitment plan that blends proven tactics with creative outreach tailored to the Georgia market.
  • Be Stetson's face in Georgia. Travel the state for high school visits, fairs, and events where future Hatters and their families are waiting to meet you.
  • Make alumni your superpower. Partner closely with the Atlanta Alumni Chapter. Attend meetings, co-host events, brainstorm creative programs, and empower alumni to become some of our best recruiters and storytellers. Together, you'll strengthen Stetson's brand awareness and expand our reach.
  • Build relationships that matter. Cultivate strong ties with guidance counselors, independent advisors, and community partners, and invite them into the Stetson experience.
  • Track touchpoints and analyze data in Slate, adjusting your strategy based on what's working and where new opportunities are emerging.
  • Review applications, recommend admission and scholarship decisions, and help families understand their financial options.
  • Work with Admissions leadership and University Marketing to design campaigns that resonate with Georgia students and their families.
  • Flexibility with evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays will allow you to connect with students and alumni when they're most engaged.
  • Perform other site and position specific functions as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The knowledge, skills, and abilities for this role include:

  • An innovator who's excited to build new strategies, test creative ideas, and launch fresh projects
  • A connector who thrives on relationships, with students, families, counselors, and alumni, and knows how to turn those connections into results
  • A strategic thinker who also enjoys experimenting to find the right mix of strategy and creativity
  • A confident, compelling communicator who can adapt across audiences
  • A collaborator at heart who can also thrive independently
  • Data- and tech-savvy, with experience using CRMs like Slate
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must work well independently and in groups
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel extensively within Georgia
  • Ability to be productive and motivated while working remotely

Required Qualifications:

This position requires:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required
  • Candidate must reside in Georgia, greater Atlanta metro area
  • Admissions experience required, with direct experience in student recruitment
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record as determined by the University's auto insurance carrier.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

Master's Degree preferred. The ideal candidate for this role is a naturally persuasive, creative problem solver who thrives in an upbeat environment with non-standard and varied working hours. A self-motivated, enthusiastic, goal-oriented individual with superior presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills who has demonstrated ability to follow direction, problem solve, manage multiple priorities, and meet goals.

Pay Grade: 5

Work authorization sponsorship may be available for this position. However, sponsorship is contingent upon the non-applicability of the visa petition fees outlined in the relevant Executive Order signed September 19, 2025. Due to the recent federally-mandated increased financial expense, the university is not in a position to absorb this significantly increased cost of sponsorship for new H-1B petitions at this time. International candidates are encouraged to apply, but should be aware that eligibility for sponsorship will be evaluated in accordance with current U.S. immigration regulations and institutional policies.
