Whitley College is seeking an Assistant Director of TransFormation Programs to help lead and support a unique and life-giving formation community. For more than two decades, the TransFormation Program has equipped and inspired church leaders from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, shaping lives, strengthening churches, and building communities across Australia and beyond.
This role is both practical and pastoral. You will help deliver and support the program, walk alongside students in their formation journey, and contribute to a learning environment where study, spiritual growth, worship, and community are deeply integrated.

About the Role
Whitley College is seeking to appoint an Assistant Director of TransFormation Programs (0.4EFT) to support the teaching of academic programs and the pastoral support of students.
The Assistant Director will:
- Assist in the smooth delivery and operation of the TransFormation Program and related events;
- Build relationships of support and care with TransFormation students;
- Maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the program and College.
Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Director of TransFormation Programs will:
- Identify and develop partnership opportunities with Baptist Union of Victoria churches and other stakeholders, including practical program support such as meal rosters and guest lecturers;
- Assist in tutoring within the Diploma of Theology stream, including coordinating tutorials, reading drafts, and providing academic support;
- Assist in the grading of assessment tasks;
- Provide pastoral care and support to students;
- Contribute to the management of the annual TransFormation budget in collaboration with the Director;
- Work with the Director to develop a second TransFormation cohort in Victoria or interstate.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Applicants will demonstrate:
- A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in theology;
- Strong intercultural capability and familiarity with culturally and linguistically diverse student cohorts;
- Willingness to affirm the values and strategic purposes of Whitley College.
Preferred Attributes
Preference will be given to applicants with:
- Membership in a Baptist Church or understanding of the baptistic identity and context of Whitley College;
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills;
- Active engagement with relevant scholarly or professional associations.
