Assistant Director Student Recruitment, College of Arts and Sciences

Job Overview

The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and student-focused Assistant Director for Recruitment to join our Office of Recruitment & Enrollment. In this role, you will help lead the development, implementation, and assessment of recruitment strategies that support the college’s enrollment goals and strengthen A&S visibility with prospective students, families, school counselors, community partners, and campus stakeholders.

As a key representative of A&S, the Assistant Director will manage assigned recruitment territories and/or programmatic recruitment areas, develop data-informed territory plans, coordinate projects that advance the college’s recruitment and yield strategy, and support initiatives that showcase the breadth and value of an Arts and Sciences education. This position will play an important role in building relationships, improving recruitment processes, supporting cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring that prospective students experience A&S as a destination for discovery, growth, and opportunity.

This hybrid position requires three days per week in the office on UC’s Uptown Campus and two days working remotely. The Assistant Director for Recruitment will represent the college at high school visits, college fairs, community outreach programs, counselor events, on-campus programs, and other recruitment activities. We are seeking someone who brings strong project management, communication, relationship-building, and data-informed planning skills to help shape the next generation of A&S Bearcats.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of recruitment strategies, programs, and events for the College of Arts and Sciences, including initiatives targeting assigned student populations, geographic territories, academic programs, and/or special recruitment markets.
  • Serve as a representative of the College of Arts and Sciences to ensure enrollment goals are met while maintaining fiscal responsibility. Act as a primary resource for prospective students, families, counselors, community partners, and campus stakeholders interested in A&S programs and pathways.
  • Develop and manage territory-specific recruitment plans informed by market research, enrollment trends, historical data, feeder school performance, application and yield metrics, and college and university enrollment priorities.
  • Manage assigned geographic and/or programmatic recruitment territories for the College of Arts and Sciences. Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community-based organizations, community colleges, academic departments, alumni partners, and other key influencers that support A&S enrollment goals.
  • Make data-driven decisions to coordinate and execute recruitment travel, including college fairs, middle/high school visits, community organization visits, community college engagement, counselor programs, and other off-campus outreach efforts.
  • Travel extensively during key time periods (8 - 12 weeks in the fall and 3 - 6 weeks in the spring) and work evenings, weekends, and non-traditional hours as needed to effectively support both on-campus and off-campus recruitment efforts.
  • Maintain and utilize information about prospective students, schools, organizations, and recruitment markets to advise, encourage, and support students from first inquiry through application, admission, and enrollment in A&S.
  • Implement and clearly explain admissions policies, procedures, academic pathways, and program requirements, ensuring students and families understand opportunities within Arts and Sciences and the broader University of Cincinnati.
