Assistant or Associate Professor - Academic Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist

The Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Sinai Health are seeking an academic physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist fulfilling the academic job description of Clinician Teacher (CT), Clinician Investigator (CI), or Clinician in Quality and Innovation (CQI). The position will be based at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital, with an opportunity to provide clinical care at Mt. Sinai Hospital. The successful candidate should be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor within the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. The expected start date is December 1, 2025, or another mutually agreed upon date.

The Division of PM&R at Sinai Health will give preference to candidates who have expertise in stroke rehabilitation and who have completed or are enrolled in an advanced training program related to stroke rehabilitation. Responsibilities will include the provision of clinical care in the inpatient and outpatient settings, teaching, and participation in other scholarly activity in stroke rehabilitation that aligns with their academic job description.

The successful candidate must hold an MD degree, have, or be eligible for, certification in PM&R by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have, or be eligible for, licensure in Ontario by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

The Division of PM&R at the University of Toronto is a strong academic program with over fifty faculty members and twenty residents, and with programs extending across the Greater Toronto Area. Estimated remuneration will be in the range of $250,000 to $300,000 per annum and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
