Position

Le Département d’ophtalmologie et des sciences de la vision au sein de la Faculté de médecine et des sciences de la santé de l’Université McGill cherche à pourvoir un poste à temps plein à titre de membre contractuel du personnel enseignant au rang de professeur adjoint ou agrégé (clinique). Le rang professoral sera établi en fonction des qualifications et de l’expérience. Il s’agit d’un mandat de trois ans, renouvelable, ne donnant pas droit à la permanence.

La personne retenue sera nommée à un poste de pratique clinique à l’Hôpital général juif (membre du CIUSSS du Centre-Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal).

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will possess advanced fellowship training in the medical, surgical and laser management of glaucoma including primary and secondary glaucoma, advanced and refractory glaucoma, glaucoma with complex ocular comorbidities, perioperative glaucoma management, and interpretation of advanced diagnostic and imaging techniques. Expertise in MIGS, filtering surgery, drainage implants and laser treatments is required. Participation in clinical care, undergraduate medical education, residency and fellowship training, clinical and/or translational research, and knowledge dissemination is expected.

Requirements

• License to practice ophthalmology in Quebec or eligibility
• Recognized glaucoma fellowship
• Demonstrated expertise in complex glaucoma medical and surgical management
• Mastery of contemporary laser and surgical techniques including MIGS
• Research productivity
• Strong potential for academic leadership, collaboration and teaching excellence
• Bilingual (French and English) preferred or commitment to acquire necessary language skills
