Assistant or Associate Professor in Economics
We invite research-oriented applicants for a full-time, 10-month, tenure track position at the rank of Assistant, or Associate Professor in Economics to begin in Fall 2026 (August 16).
We invite applications from candidates in all fields of Economics, with a preference for those specializing in applied microeconomics, urban economics, and international trade. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining an active, high-quality research agenda and excellence in teaching.
The candidate is expected to teach intermediate or other higher level economics courses, and be able to involve and interact with students in a small class setting. Candidates with experience and expertise in teaching undergraduate econometrics and intermediate microeconomics are strongly preferred. The candidate should demonstrate excellent collaborative skills and a strong commitment to participating in teaching and service in ways that align with the department’s needs and priorities.
Faculty positions at WKU offer:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Earned doctorate in Economics from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited university or anticipated completion prior to the contract start date. The position may be hired at the lecturer level, if the terminal degree is not earned by the starting date, or for other reasons
- High-quality research record or clear potential to publish in top-tier peer-reviewed journals
- Fluency in written and spoken English
