Required Qualifications
- PhD in Anthropology or related discipline from an accredited
university (ABD is acceptable to apply but must have the degree
awarded by August 16, 2027).
- Demonstrated potential for maintaining an active program of
archaeological research.
- Ability or willingness to teach courses in multiple
instructional modalities, including in-person, hybrid, and online
formats, as needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active program of archaeological field research.
- Willingness to teach a range of anthropology courses.
- Evidence of teaching in an accredited community college and/or
university setting or similar experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to student-centered teaching and
mentorship.

- Ability to develop and maintain effective and constructive
collaborative relationships with faculty and administration
throughout the university.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System
of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per
week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option
to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS,
subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135
days in length.
