Offer Description
According to the Polish regulations, Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW, Institute of Civil Engineering searches for the candidate for the assistant professor position. The ideal candidate should have a doctoral degree with habilitation in the field of engineering and technology (architecture). The candidate will be responsible for conducting classes on architectural and building design, and engineering graphics for the students of Civil Architecture and Engineering. The classes will be held in Polish and English.

Skills/Qualifications
Requirements for candidates:
a) a post-doctoral degree (habilitation) in the field of arts,
b) is the author or co-author of at least four scholarly monographs or academic articles published in journals or by publishers included in the list applicable for the year of their publication, as referred to in § 87(1) and (4); in the case of the social sciences, is the author or co-author of at least four scholarly monographs or chapters in monographs or academic articles (including at least two published in academic journals) published in journals or monographs included in the list applicable for the year of their publication,
c) over the last two calendar years, has achieved an average annual number of points for academic articles, scholarly monographs or chapters in scholarly monographs that is at least 50% higher than the minimum average annual number of points required to receive a positive evaluation of research activity for an academic teacher employed as an assistant, as specified in the rules for the evaluation of academic teachers in force on the date of submission of the application,
d) has received a positive assessment from the committee responsible for teaching matters regarding the teaching activities conducted; in the case of candidates applying for employment who are not employees of SGGW, has received a positive assessment from the committee for a research presentation delivered at a seminar organized by the unit in which the candidate is applying for employment,
e) has documented at least a good command of English or another congress language, sufficient to independently write academic publications in that language and deliver presentations at academic conferences,
f) has led or submitted a research project involving scientific research or development work, or the implementation of investments related to education and research activities,
g) professional experience gained in an international academic environment will be considered an additional asset,
h) completion of a research internship will be considered an additional asset.
Specific Requirements
The position covers three main areas: research, teaching, and scientific cooperation. The candidate should conduct classes on architectural and building design, general construction, architecture and urban planning, and engineering graphics. The candidate should also give the instructions and supervise the students’ work concerning those subjects. The classes will be held in Polish and English. Minimum 240-hours contract per academic year.
