Assistant Professor/Associate Professor of Pathology and Cell Biology at CUMC
The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Columbia University is seeking a full-time surgical pathologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Board certification in Anatomic Pathology is required for this position, and subspecialty training in head & neck or breast pathology is preferred. Teaching and communication skills are essential. The position involves a significant clinical component which mainly consists of the assessment and sign out of surgical pathology specimens. Additional components include teaching, academic endeavors, and potentially limited administrative and quality assurance functions.
Job Function:
- Assessment & sign out of surgical pathology specimens.
- Teaching of residents, students, and fellows.
- Contributing to the academic mission of the department.
- Limited role in administrative and/or QA activities.
Lab Mission/Purpose:
The Division of Anatomic Pathology processes 130,000 specimens annually. Our goal is to provide accurate, timely, detailed, and outstanding patient care. Important additional priorities for the Department of Pathology & Cell Biology are to contribute to the academic, educational, and research missions of the medical center.
Minimum Education Requirements:
- MD or equivalent degree.
- Board certification in Anatomic Pathology is required.
Minimum Skills Required:
- Subspecialty training in head & neck or breast pathology is preferred.
Hiring Salary Range: $270,000 to $370,000
+ Assistant Professor at CUMC: $270,000-$325,000
+ Associate Professor at CUMC: $305,000-$370,000
