Skills/Qualifications
- The competition is open to persons who:
- meet the requirements set out in Article 113 and Article 116(2)(4) of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended);
- hold at least a Master’s degree or equivalent, obtained upon completion of music studies in violin performance;
- have documented experience in teaching violin;
- demonstrate achievements and a documented artistic record.
Specific Requirements
Required documents:
- an application to take part in the competition addressed to the Rector of the UMFC;
- a certified copy of the Master’s degree certificate;
- documentation of teaching experience to date;
- documentation of artistic achievements, including – at the candidate’s discretion – in the form of a portfolio;
- a personal questionnaire, in accordance with the UMFC template;
- a curriculum vitae;
- a declaration of willingness to designate the UMFC as the primary place of employment, in accordance with the UMFC template;
- a declaration regarding the processing of personal data contained in the recruitment documents, in accordance with the current UMFC template;
- a declaration of no criminal record for an intentional criminal offence or an intentional fiscal offence, in accordance with the UMFC template.

Job description:
- Knowledge of the UMFC Statutes, the Work Regulations and the UMFC Study Regulations to the extent necessary for the proper performance of duties and functioning within the University’s structures;
- educating and guiding students and other participants in study programmes run by the University and the Department;
- participating in the organisational work of the University and the Department;
- assisting, outside their teaching load, in the classes of the class tutor or another independent academic teacher, in accordance with the rules laid down by the head of the relevant Department;
- contributing to the substantive and methodological supervision of students’ assessment and term assignments, to the extent arising from their assigned duties;
- actively participating in meetings and the work of the relevant Department;
- serving – where appointed – on examination boards for term, degree and entrance examinations, in accordance with the rules laid down by the Dean and the relevant internal regulations of the UMFC;
- participating in auditions for artistic projects carried out at the Department;
- undertaking activities aimed at one’s own artistic and academic development and continuously improving professional competence;
- promoting knowledge and sharing teaching experience and skills, in particular through presentations, conferences and publications.

Selection process
Stages of the audition process:
- performing a musical programme lasting approximately 20 minutes before the audition panel – either as a solo violin piece or with accompaniment;
- conducting a demonstration lesson with a student designated by the Department;
- attending an interview.

The results of the competition will be announced by 22 September 2026 by a selection panel appointed for this purpose.
A successful outcome in the competition does not guarantee employment as an assistant. The final decision on the appointment is made by the Rector of the Chopin University of Music.
