The Department of Biology and Environmental Sciences at Auburn University at Montgomery is seeking to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biology. This position will enhance existing research strengths in microbiology, physiology, and/or molecular biology to support a dynamic department and a growing MS program in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Preference will be given to candidates pursuing research topics that emphasize training in fields related to biomedicine or biotechnology, with particular interest in candidates working in areas related to cancer, immunology and metabolomics.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. (postdoctoral experience preferred) and will be expected to develop a funded research program involving undergraduate and graduate students. The successful applicant will participate in undergraduate and graduate instruction and demonstrate a strong commitment to mentoring first-generation students. Teaching experience is required, and candidates who employ innovative, evidence-based, and inclusive pedagogical practices are preferred. In addition, candidates must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time of appointment.
