The Department of Cell and Molecular Physiology at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine (SSOM) seeks applicants for a tenure-track position at the ASSISTANT PROFESSOR level.
We seek a colleague whose research program is focused on cardiovascular and cell physiology research. Careful but not exclusive consideration will be given to applicants who engage in biophysical and proteomic approaches to address fundamental knowledge gaps about cellular regeneration and molecular determinants of aging processes. Departmental strengths include faculty engaged in cardiovascular science, ion channel physiology, molecular motors, cellular biophysics, calcium signaling, nuclear steroid receptors, and aging research. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with collaborative translational research groups within Loyola’s Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI) and the Center for Healthy Aging and Resistance Mechanisms (CHARM).
Candidates must have a doctoral degree and postdoctoral experience with strong publication records. The faculty applicant will be expected to sustain an independent, externally-funded research program and contribute to graduate and medical education.
Please submit all applications at Loyola Careers portal (job #28131). Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, but we encourage early submissions as reviews will occur on a rolling basis.
Applications should include a cover letter (1 page), CV (3 pages), research statement (3 pages, excluding references), and teaching philosophy (1 page) as a single PDF.
