"Assistant Professor - Clinical Educator, Department of Surgery"

Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Assistant Professor - Clinical Educator, Department of Surgery at its Detroit campus location. Essential functions:

• This individual will have specialized training in craniomaxillofacial, cleft palate surgery in children and adults – part of succession plan for one of the senior surgeons in the department.
• They would be the one to step in to be Program Director if the DMC decided to reopen a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency/Fellowship Program.
• The faculty member would be part of the teaching faculty for our general surgery residents and WSU III and WSU IV medical students.
• The faculty member would serve on a variety of resident and student committees.
• Experience in research is a plus- to conduct research with students, residents, and fellows.
• Participate in the teaching programs of the Department of Surgery that will include medical students, residents and fellows.
• Participate in scholarly activities that will include research opportunities.
• Participate in administrative and committee activities within the Department of Surgery.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified
• M.D. degree
• Valid Michigan medical license
• Commitment to academic medicine
• Rank commensurate with credentials
