Assistant Professor - Clinical Educator, Department of Surgery
Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Assistant Professor - Clinical Educator, Department of Surgery at its Detroit campus location. Essential functions:
- This individual will have specialized training in craniomaxillofacial, cleft palate surgery in children and adults – part of succession plan for one of the senior surgeons in the department.
- They would be the one to step in to be Program Director if the DMC decided to reopen a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency/Fellowship Program.
- The faculty member would be part of the teaching faculty for our general surgery residents and WSU III and WSU IV medical students.
- The faculty member would serve on a variety of resident and student committees.
- Experience in research is a plus- to conduct research with students, residents, and fellows.
- Participate in the teaching programs of the Department of Surgery that will include medical students, residents and fellows.
- Participate in scholarly activities that will include research opportunities.
- Participate in administrative and committee activities within the Department of Surgery.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified
- M.D. degree
- Valid Michigan medical license
- Commitment to academic medicine
- Rank commensurate with credentials
