Assistant Professor- Clinician Educator-Hematopathologist-Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine/Hematopathology Division

Description

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in all areas of hematopathology, such as bone marrow and lymph node pathology, clinical hematology and flow cytometry. The successful applicant will have previous experience in Molecular Pathology and/or Pathology Informatics, certification in these areas is preferred. Applicants must have an M.D and/or Ph.D or equivalent degree. Applicants must have the appropriate American Board of Pathology, AP/CP or CP and Hematopathology certification.

Teaching responsibilities may include medical students, residents, fellows and post-doctoral students, as well as formal lecture opportunities within the Department and Hematopathology Division.

Clinical responsibilities may include diagnosing and evaluation of hematopoietic neoplasm, such as participation in bone marrow, tissue, flow cytometry services, review of blood and body fluid smears, hemoglobinopathy evaluation. Responsibilities also include weekend call.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include development of an independent and /or highly collaborative research program (as PI, Co-PI or Co-I) in the area of flow cytometry/hematology/hematopathology. Evidence of scholarly impact is required for the CE track.
