Job Description:

The School of Education at the University at Albany, State University of New York is seeking a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor in Mathematics Education with an interest in joining a newly launched and growing undergraduate teacher preparation program. Applicants with expertise in PreK-6 mathematics teacher preparation are strongly encouraged to apply. We seek candidates with a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in teacher preparation programs as well as doctoral students. The successful applicant will engage with colleagues whose research interests and scholarship span pre-K to post-graduate education and who prepare students to be innovative scholar-leaders. The School of Education is a vibrant and inclusive community of students and faculty. In this community, students and faculty innovate and challenge via research, teaching and service to focus on education that meets the contemporary learning needs of society.

Primary Responsibilities:

• The candidate should be prepared to teach both introductory courses and advanced courses in their area of expertise. Duties will include teaching courses across undergraduate and graduate programs as needed based on candidate's expertise; publishing and obtaining funding to support research in their area of educational expertise; mentoring students; attending departmental and program meetings; and serving on department, school, and university committees.
