Offer Description
The purpose of the competition is to fill one position of Assistant Professor at the Institute of Linguistics (in the area of French linguistics). The competition is open to applicants who meet the requirements specified in Article 113 and 116 of the 20 July 2018 Act on higher education and science (The 2024 Journal of Laws, item 1571 incl. subsequent alterations), the Statute of the University of Szczecin and the criteria indicated in the competition. The competition is the first stage of the recruitment process for the post of an academic teacher, and its positive outcome is the basis for further procedure.

Requirements
- A doctoral degree (PhD) in the discipline of Linguistics (French linguistics);
- An MA degree in French Philology or Romance Philology (French language);
- A documented record of scholarly achievements in the field of French linguistics (three research achievements eligible for evaluation within the meaning of the provisions of the Act, including at least two publications produced during the last three calendar years);
- Clearly defined research and publication plans;
- At least five years of experience as an academic teacher;
- Experience in teaching university-level courses in French;
- Proficiency in spoken and written Polish at a minimum B2 level;
- Consent to employment with the University of Szczecin as the primary place of employment only.
Additional asset
- Documented experience in international cooperation projects in the fields of French linguistics and the popularization of science.

Required Application Documents
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
- An application for employment addressed to the Rector of the University of Szczecin, written in Polish;
- A curriculum vitae (CV) (if the applicant is a foreign national, a Polish translation of the document is required);
- The originals (or certified copies) of documents confirming the award of an academic title, academic degree, professional degree, or an equivalent qualification. If these documents have been issued in a language other than Polish, certified Polish translations and a certificate confirming the equivalence of the diploma to the corresponding Polish professional qualification or academic degree must also be submitted;
- A list of scientific publications;
- A description of the applicant's teaching experience and other achievements in the organization of academic life and the popularization of science;
- Information on the applicant's research and publication plans;
- A document confirming proficiency in spoken and written Polish at a minimum B2 level (required only for applicants who are foreign nationals);
- A completed Personal Questionnaire for Employment Applicants (downloadable form);
- A declaration confirming compliance with the requirements set out in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) (downloadable form);
- A declaration stating that the University of Szczecin will be the applicant's primary place of employment (downloadable form);
- A consent clause for the processing of personal data for the purposes of the recruitment procedure, together with the information clause (downloadable form);
- A certificate of no criminal record issued by the National Criminal Register (Krajowy Rejestr Karny) confirming that the applicant has not been convicted of offences specified in Chapters XIX and XXV of the Polish Criminal Code, Articles 189a and 207 of the Criminal Code (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 17, as amended), or offences under the Act of 29 July 2005 on Counteracting Drug Addiction (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939, as amended), or equivalent offences under foreign law. This requirement arises from Article 21 of the Act of 13 May 2016 on Counteracting the Threat of Sexual Crime and the Protection of Minors (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 560).

Applicants who are foreign nationals must also submit:
- A certificate of no criminal record issued by the criminal register of their country of citizenship for the purposes of employment or voluntary activities involving contact with children;

Remuneration
The remuneration package for this position includes:
- Basic monthly salary ranging from PLN 7,530 gross to PLN 8,450 gross (§ 5(5) of Regulation No. 28/2026 of the Rector of the University of Szczecin of 17 March 2026 on the Remuneration Regulations of the University of Szczecin, and Annex No. 1 thereto);
- Functional allowance for employees performing managerial functions or employed in managerial positions (Annex No. 9 to Regulation No. 28/2026 of the Rector of the University of Szczecin of 17 March 2026);
- Length-of-service allowance ranging from 0% to 20% of the basic salary (§ 16(1) of Regulation No. 28/2026 of the Rector of the University of Szczecin of 17 March 2026);
- Annual bonus ("thirteenth salary"), subject to the statutory eligibility requirements (§ 23 of Regulation No. 28/2026 of the Rector of the University of Szczecin of 17 March 2026);
- Long-service award (§ 22 of Regulation No. 28/2026 of the Rector of the University of Szczecin of 17 March 2026);
- Retirement or disability retirement severance payment (§ 24(1)(2) of Regulation No. 28/2026 of the Rector of the University of Szczecin of 17 March 2026).

Where justified, an employee appointed to this position may also receive:

- Task-related allowance (§ 17(1) of Regulation No. 28/2026 of the Rector of the University of Szczecin of 17 March 2026);
