Position Summary: The Department of Political Science in the UGA School of Public and International Affairs seeks a new faculty colleague in American government/politics at the Assistant Professor level. We welcome candidates from any subfield in American politics. We encourage applications from all substantive, theoretical, and methodological perspectives, including candidates who have research and teaching interests in media, especially new media (i.e., utilizing digital technologies), or political communication. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the curriculum in ways that align with their research and teaching interests. The Department offers a wide range of courses with two undergraduate degrees, certificate programs in applied politics and data analytics, and graduate-level degree programs in political science, including a new MA track in political analytics.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies: Demonstrated record of, or potential for, excellence in American Politics scholarship. Potential for externally funded research. Demonstrated record of, or potential for, excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Potential to collaborate with scholars on interdisciplinary research and create synergies with existing departmental faculty in political methodology, all fields of American politics, and/or political theory.
