Areas of teaching or research expertise may include, but are not limited to Indigenous/Afro-Indigenous histories; diasporic studies; medicine and public health; material culture; environmental studies; gender studies, economic history; and political history. Responsibilities

This is a tenure-track position with a 3/3 teaching load. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative, innovative, and student-centered teaching culture. They will teach courses in Latin American history at the introductory and upper levels and contribute to the department’s broader curriculum. Candidates should be able to teach with chronological depth. Depending on their area of expertise and departmental needs, the successful candidate may contribute to courses in world history, historiography, and the University’s Core Curriculum.
In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda, especially one that opens up possibilities for students to engage in the research process. Candidates will also be expected to contribute to departmental and university service appropriate to their career stage.
