Job Summary

The Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at TU Delft invites applicants for an Assistant Professor in Architectural Intelligence and Data-Driven Design. This role is for an interdisciplinary scholar connecting architectural design, artificial intelligence, and data practices, focusing on how AI supports conceptualization, analysis, design, and communication in the built environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a distinctive research agenda that connects artificial intelligence to architectural design.
• Collaboratively teach courses that bring computational and data-driven methods into architectural education and supervise students across all levels, translating complex AI concepts into operational design frameworks.
• Actively collaborate across disciplines, contribute to innovative open data initiatives, and help define how intelligent systems support architectural practice and culture.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Hold a PhD in architecture, design computation, artificial intelligence, computer science, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong foundation in data practices, AI methods, and knowledge representation, combined with a vision for enriching architectural thinking and design culture.
• Capacity to operate across disciplines, engaging technical and design-oriented communities, with a track record of peer-reviewed publications, teaching experience, and a collaborative mindset.

This is an Academic Career Track position (0.8–1.0 FTE) with opportunities to grow to Associate Professor within eight years.
