Position:
The College of Business and Economics invites applications for a tenure-track, 9-month Assistant Professor position in the Department of Finance beginning August 2027.
Qualifications:
PhD in Finance from an AACSB accredited institution. ABD applicants considered, but appointment will be at the Instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by August 1, 2027. A PhD in Financial Planning may be considered. Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students, promise of high-quality research, and the ability to work in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. Professional certifications such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) will be helpful. Industry experience is appreciated.
Responsibilities:
Faculty assigned an instructional workload of six (6) course units per academic year. Teach traditional and online format courses within the finance discipline at the undergraduate and graduate levels as directed by the chair. Primary areas of interest for teaching and research should be Investments and/ or Corporate Finance. The faculty will be required to teach at all campuses where Towson University class are offered including the main campus and the TU Northeast (TUNE) campus.
The Department:
The department offers three majors: finance, investments, and financial planning. The Department of Finance programs carry the CFP program designation and the CFA program designation. The department faculty are highly productive in both research and evolving pedagogy.

Salary and Benefits:
Targeted salary range: $150,000-$153,200
