Assistant Professor in Human Resource Management
The Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources Division (OBHR) of the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver Campus) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank in Human Resource Management. Candidates should demonstrate potential to conduct high-quality research, publish in top tier management journals, and hold or be very close to completing a Ph.D. by July 1, 2026.
We seek candidates who are developing an active research program focusing on Human Resource Management who demonstrate potential for and evidence of research and teaching excellence.
Duties include developing and maintaining an active research program focused on producing high-quality scholarly contributions; developing and teaching classes in our undergraduate and graduate education programs; supervising Ph.D. students; and contributing to other teaching and administrative initiatives in the Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources Division, including our undergraduate Human Resource Management option. Teaching and service requirements align with other research-intensive universities. UBC Sauder provides generous start up grants for research, and extensive development opportunities and support for junior faculty including an active seminar series, faculty “lunch and learn” sessions on teaching development, research methods workshops, and paper development workshops. In addition, the Canadian Federal Government offers several research funding competitions through the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).
The Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources Division includes 14 scholars with interdisciplinary interests in both macro and micro research spanning Human Resource Management, Organizational Behaviour, and Organizational Theory. Faculty members study a wide range of workplace and organizational issues and publish in top tier management journals. The Sauder School of Business is part of the University of British Columbia (UBC), which ranks among the top 30 universities worldwide, attracting both high-quality and diverse students and faculty. The expected salary range for this position is CAD $190,000 to $230,000 per annum, with an additional 2/9th stipend calculated based on the base salary.
