Assistant Professor in Mathematics and Statistics
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at St. Francis Xavier University invites applications for a probationary tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2026. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
The successful candidates will have or be nearing completion of a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics or a related field. Preference will be given to those who are able to support the data science and actuarial science programming. The preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level and provide evidence of high-quality research.
About the Department
The Department has 11 tenured/tenure-track research active members, across a variety of areas, committed to the scholarship of teaching and outreach to the community. The Department prides itself on its engagement with students and collegiality within the University. The successful candidate will find a supportive, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating environment.
