The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of OCD and other anxiety-related disorders. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree. Licensure to deliver psychotherapy is required.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching of research assistants, practicum students, psychology interns, postdoctoral fellows, and psychiatry residents. Teaching responsibilities will include a combination of research and clinically relevant teaching duties in the form of mentorship, supervision, and formal didactics.
Clinical responsibilities may include provision of cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety-related disorders across the lifespan with a focus on adults, as well as conducting diagnostic intake evaluations.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include submission of extramural and intramural grant applications to the National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, and/or National Science Foundation. In addition, the role comes with the expectation of leading and serving in a support role for scientific publications and presentations. The ideal candidate will be able to independently lead a program of research focused on the etiology, maintenance, treatment and prevention of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).
