About EPS:

The UM6P Engineering Physics School (EPS), established by UM6P, stands as a premier engineering physics school in Morocco. Over a three-year program, it trains physicists to emerge as future entrepreneurs, leaders, and professionals in the Kingdom and across Africa. The program awards an EPS engineering degree, and its education and research are developed at the UM6P Institute of Applied Physics.

Position Objectives:

The assistant professor will be responsible for teaching, researching, and supervising students in semiconductor physics, with a focus on using advanced mathematical methods to model materials and electronic phenomena in semiconductors.

Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Mathematical Analysis: Differential and integral calculus, differential equations, and Fourier series.
  • Linear Algebra: Matrices, vector spaces, linear systems, eigenvalues.
  • Numerical Methods: Numerical solution techniques for material modeling.
  • Functional Analysis: Hilbert spaces and operators for quantum system modeling.
  • Probability and Statistics: Stochastic processes, distributions, and Monte Carlo methods for material defect analysis.

Research Responsibilities:

  • Develop mathematical models for semiconductor physics, studying electronic bands, electron transport, and optical properties.
  • Research on quantum properties of semiconductors, particularly in nonlinear optics and two-dimensional materials.
  • Publish research results in scientific journals and present findings at international conferences.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Theoretical Physics or a related field.
  • Experience in modeling semiconductors and using advanced mathematical tools (complex analysis, differential equations).
  • Skills in numerical computation, particularly for material simulations.
