Assistant Professor in Shipping, Maritime and Transport Studies

It focuses on research in logistics, supply chain, and operations management.

Duties

• Initiate, lead, and participate in scholarly research, leading to quality journal publications and bidding for external research grants.
• Conduct research in related areas and contribute to the Department’s research strengths.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and theses.
• Undertake teaching duties at various levels in Shipping, Maritime and Transport Studies.
• Engage in programme/curriculum planning, development, and administration.
• Undertake relevant administrative duties.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or delegates.

Qualifications

• A PhD degree in a related discipline.
• A proven record in research and scholarships.
• Solid experience in teaching and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research.
• Qualities of creativity, initiative, and leadership.

Preference will be given to those with prior business/managerial experience in related industries.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract with re-engagement subject to mutual agreement.
