Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Policy and Administration
Job Description
A full member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA), the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) invites applicants for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Policy and Administration.
The position will start in Fall 2026.
Preferred and Required Qualifications
Candidates should have Ph.D. in Public Policy, Public Affairs, Public Administration, or a related field (e.g., Economics, Planning, Urban Affairs, Environmental Studies, Political Science, and others).
We are looking for candidates whose research emphasis is broadly aligned with FIU’s strategic focus area of environment and environmental resilience.
We take a holistic approach to resilience research encompassing environmental policy and planning, environmental/climate finance, disaster management, innovative technological solutions (e.g., clean energy), sustainable development, and related areas. Candidates should have a strong record of, or a demonstrated capacity for scholarly publications and external research support. ABD candidates will be considered with the expectation that the Ph.D. is completed before the start date.
