PUBLIC CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

for the appointment of:

• one candidate to the academic position of Assistant Professor in the scientific area of Social Sciences, scientific field of Psychology, at the Department of Philosophy of the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Split, for an indefinite period, on a full-time basis.

Applicants must, in addition to the general requirements prescribed by the Act on Scientific Activity and Higher Education (Official Gazette No. 119/22), fulfil the special requirements prescribed by the National University, Scientific and Artistic Criteria (Official Gazette No. 42/26), as well as the special requirements prescribed by the Statute of the University of Split and the Statute of the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Split, and are required to provide appropriate supporting evidence thereof.

Documents to be submitted

Applicants are required to submit the following documents together with a signed application:

• curriculum vitae;
• a nihil obstat issued by their Ordinary and a nihil obstat issued by the Grand Chancellor (for members of the clergy), or a recommendation from their parish priest (for lay candidates);
• proof of Croatian citizenship or a copy of proof of citizenship of another country;
• for foreign nationals, proof of proficiency in the Croatian language and Latin script at an advanced level;
• a certified copy of the document certifying the academic degree of Doctor of Science in the field of Phylosophy, or a certified copy of the recognition decision for applicants who obtained their qualification abroad;
• a copy of proof of previous work experience;
• a report confirming fulfilment of the requirements of the call and/or the minimum statutory requirements for appointment;
• a report on the applicant's previous scientific, teaching and professional activities;
• a list of scientific and professional publications;
• offprints of publications;
• evidence demonstrating fulfilment of the criteria for teaching and scientific-professional contribution in accordance with the National University, Scientific and Artistic Criteria (Official Gazette No. 42/26).

PREFERENCE

• Experience in delivering university-level teaching at the Department of Philosophy.

The deadline for submitting applications is 30 days from the date of publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia (Narodne novine).

Persons of both sexes shall have the right to apply under equal conditions.

Applicants who meet the formal requirements of the call will be invited to an oral interview. Applicants may also be required to undergo an assessment of the knowledge and skills relevant to the performance of the duties of the position by means of a written knowledge assessment. Applicants will be notified of the place and time of the assessment by e-mail sent to the electronic address provided in their application.

If an applicant fails to attend the interview or the written knowledge assessment, it shall be deemed that the applicant has withdrawn their application and they shall no longer be considered a candidate in the selection procedure.

Applicants who, pursuant to special regulations – the Act on the Rights of Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Their Family Members (Official Gazette Nos. 121/17, 98/19, 84/21 and 156/23), Article 48 of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Invalids (Official Gazette Nos. 33/92, 77/92, 27/93, 58/93, 2/94, 76/94, 108/95, 108/96, 82/01, 103/03, 148/13 and 98/19), Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Official Gazette Nos. 157/13, 152/14, 39/18 and 32/20), Article 48 of the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War (Official Gazette No. 84/21), or Article 22 of the Constitutional Act on the Rights of National Minorities (Official Gazette Nos. 155/02, 47/10, 80/10 and 93/11), invoke the right of priority in employment, are required to invoke this right in their application and to submit all evidence prescribed by the relevant special regulations for exercising such right.

Such applicants shall have priority in employment over other applicants only under equal conditions.
