Job Description

The Department of Physics at Binghamton University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in Fall 2027. We seek an outstanding candidate in theoretical high-energy physics, with an emphasis on particle phenomenology. Areas of particular interest include phenomenology relevant to current and future collider experiments, such as the High-Luminosity LHC, Belle II, a future muon collider, and the Future Circular Collider, broadly construed. Research may encompass physics beyond the Standard Model, precision tests of the Standard Model, and the development of theoretical and computational tools for interpreting experimental results.

The successful candidate will have an outstanding research record, establish an independent and externally funded research program, and make effective contributions to the department's undergraduate and graduate teaching programs.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Physics or a related discipline by August 16, 2027
• An active program of research, as demonstrated by a strong record of scholarly contributions, including publications and preprints

Preferred Qualifications:

• Postdoctoral experience in high-energy particle phenomenology
• Research experience in beyond the Standard Model phenomenology
