The Department of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science (BIDS) at Yale University School of Medicine invites applications for Assistant Professor positions in the Investigator Track. Areas of interest include:

  • Artificial intelligence in medicine
  • Biomedical natural language processing and knowledge representation
  • Biomedical data modeling and ontologies

This track is intended for investigators who demonstrate conceptual and creative leadership in research that may be carried out either as an independent investigator or as a key participant in a research team or core facility. If working in a collaborative research effort, an investigator’s creative contributions must be distinguished and identifiable. Research on this track typically drives a new area of research and/or methods on many projects as principal investigator. Collaborative team science and interdisciplinary research is encouraged with unique creative contributions identifiable.

Faculty members in this track may engage in teaching, but their major responsibility is in the development of productive research programs. We seek individuals with strong records of creative accomplishments in biomedical informatics, who will interact productively with colleagues within the Department and across Yale School of Medicine and the University. We foster an environment of collaboration and scientific discovery, and we value the exchange of new ideas and novel approaches to research, training, and service. Joint appointments with other departments will also be supported. Strong scientific, management, and interpersonal skills are required. More information about the Investigator Track faculty at Yale School of Medicine can be found here.
