The Shippensburg University’s Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position effective August 2026 to teach in our mechanical engineering undergraduate program. We welcome applicants at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Rank is commensurate with qualifications including prior teaching, research and professional experience.
The candidate must be able to teach at least four of the following undergraduate courses:
- Mechanical Design & Methodology
- Machine Dynamics
- Fluid Flow
- Manufacturing Processes
- Engineering Materials and Mechatronics

The position requires interest in mentoring undergraduate engineering students through active advising, extra-curricular groups to include participation in various competitions such as the SAE Baja and Student Design Competitions. The candidate will also engage in the ABET accreditation process and help lead the effort to earn accreditation for this program.
In addition, faculty members are expected to perform other duties as assigned in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.
