The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) is currently welcoming applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Mechanics to start in Fall 2027. The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering houses undergraduate programs in Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering as well as a graduate program in Engineering and graduate certificates in Fluid Power and Additive Manufacturing. candidates will be expected to become involved with academic advising, curriculum development, supervision of student projects, and continued professional growth through a combination of consulting, scholarship, and research. Required Qualifications
- Earned Doctorate
Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a related field - Undergraduate Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited
program - Relevant industry experience
- A strong interest in effective undergraduate teaching while integrating theory with
applications and developing laboratory experiences - Expertise in solid mechanics or computational mechanics.
- Experience in
areas such as finite element analysis, multiphysics modeling, or fracture and fatigue mechanics is preferred. - Research or industry
experience in the aforementioned areas is preferred.
