Description:
The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (EAS) at the University of Houston (UH) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the broad field of Mineral Science. Applicants with experience in high-temperature geochemistry, mineralogy, igneous petrology, and/or metamorphic petrology are encouraged to apply. EAS seeks candidates who utilize multi-scale field, laboratory and/or modeling approaches to understand the petrogenesis and occurrence of mineral resources.
Successful candidates are expected to build active collaborations within and outside the university, to promote synergy with existing research at UH, to develop externally funded research programs that are internationally recognized, to teach, advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and to enhance experiential learning at UH.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Geology or a related field at the time of the appointment.
