The University of Arkansas at Little Rock, School of Physical Sciences, Chemistry Program (https://ualr.edu/chemistry/), invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Analytical Chemistry beginning August 16, 2026. The Chemistry Program is dedicated to high-quality, student-centered education and research at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in analytical chemistry, including lecture, laboratory, and special topics; develop and sustain a productive, externally funded research program in analytical chemistry. The Chemistry Program provides access to a range of instrumentation to support teaching and research, including GC/MS, CMS, UV-NIR, UV-Vis, FT-IR, NMR, TGA/DSC, and standard spectroscopic instrumentation. Additional campus resources are available through the Center for Integrative Nanotechnology Sciences (http://ualr.edu/nanotechnology/), and faculty frequently collaborate with nearby institutions such as the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Required Education and/or Experience: Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or a closely related field. All Ph.D. requirements must be completed before employment commences.
Preferred Education and/or Experience: Candidates with postdoctoral research experience will be given preference. Experience teaching analytical chemistry and laboratory courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, demonstrated commitment to evidence-based teaching practices, and a strong record of research accomplishments (e.g., publications, grant activity, student mentoring).
