Job Summary
The Political Science Department of the University of Colorado Denver has an opening for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Comparative Politics/International Relations, to begin in August of 2025.
The CU Denver Political Science Department seeks to sensitize students to the essential questions of politics and life, and to catalyze informed and creative civic engagement in pursuit of a more just and humane world. Beyond its teaching mission, the Department seeks to create, discover, and apply knowledge to improve the health and well-being of Colorado, the nation, and the world. In advancing these teaching, research, and creative activities, the department seeks to build mutually beneficial partnerships that engage local, national, and global communities. We have a robust record of engagement in civic affairs, which includes an Urban Citizen service-learning program and a CU at the Capitol legislative internship program. Our department offers study abroad programs to South Korea and Berlin and participates in the CU Denver's International College in Beijing program. Our faculty has a strong record of academic and community-service accomplishment, winning multiple university and community awards for research, teaching, and service.
The University of Colorado Denver Department of Political Science commits to an antiracist mission-to undoing racism and white supremacy in all their forms. The Department affirms that everyone benefits personally, communally, and intellectually from antiracist work, not just people of color. The Department emphasizes that antiracism is the responsibility and privilege of all individuals, albeit in different ways, with different risks and resources, different burdens and opportunities. No one is exempt. We commit to construct and fund meaningful action to advance these values.
