Assistant Professor of Dietetics

Job Details

General Summary:
Eastern Michigan University’s Coordinated Program in Dietetics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. This is an eight-month appointment with optional summer employment contingent on departmental need.

Responsibilities:
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the dietetics program, both on-campus and online;
• Mentor student research and advise dietetics students;
• Develop an active research program, pursue external funding, and publish scholarly work;
• Engage in service activities within the Program, School, College, University, and broader community;
• Contribute to interprofessional education and collaborate across disciplines;
• Participate in program development and evaluation (e.g., curriculum design).

Required Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree (ABD considered) in nutrition or a closely-related field;
• RD/RDN credential;
• College-level teaching experience;
• Evidence of a research agenda and the ability to maintain high-quality scholarly work;
• Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
• RD/RDN professional experience;
• Food service and/or management experience;
• Experience with an accredited supervised practice program;
• Evidence of scholarly contributions to the profession or related field.
