The Department of Philosophy at Brown University is looking to hire one tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in aspects of Early Modern Philosophy other than Kant, beginning July 1, 2027. The appointee for this position is expected to maintain an active research agenda on Early Modern philosophers other than (or as well as) Kant; to teach 3 courses per academic year; to advise undergraduate and graduate students; and to perform departmental and university service. The application must include a cover letter, a CV, a teaching statement (and sample syllabi if available), a research statement, and a writing sample. These documents should also address how the applicant would ensure that their teaching was appropriately responsive to the diversity of the Brown community.
