Assistant Professor of Education

Job Description

The Department of Education at Lincoln Memorial University invites applications for a full-time faculty position within the Doctor of Education (EdD) program. The successful candidate will possess expertise in curriculum and instruction, instructional practices, teaching and learning, or a closely related field and demonstrate a strong commitment to practitioner-focused doctoral education

Required Qualifications

• Earned terminal degree (EdD or PhD) in Curriculum & Instruction, Instructional Leadership, Educational Leadership, Teaching & Learning, or a closely related field.
• Evidence of successful teaching experience in higher education and/or PK-12 settings or closely related field.
• Demonstrated understanding of instructional practices, adult learning, and practitioner-based doctoral education.
• Strong written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching at the doctoral level.
• Dissertation chairing or committee experience.
• Experience with qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods research
• Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas)

Job Duties

• Teach doctoral-level courses in areas such as curriculum and instruction, instructional leadership, instructional practices, assessment, or related topics
• Support EdD students through advising, dissertation supervision, and committee service
• Provide timely, constructive feedback and individualized student support
• Collaborate with faculty to support program assessment, accreditation, recruitment, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Participate in curriculum development and course revision aligned with current research and practitioner needs
• Maintain active scholarly engagement through research, presentations, publications, or professional involvement
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities
• Engage with school and community stakeholders to support partnerships and program outreach
