The School of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University Institute of Technology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of English. We are seeking an outstanding candidate to complement the faculty in our multidisciplinary School on our campus in Beckley, WV.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include teaching twelve undergraduate hours per semester, including first year composition and advanced writing courses. The successful candidate will actively contribute to scholarly pursuits, departmental initiatives, and the intellectual and cultural life of the university and will demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population. Additional responsibilities include committee assignments, participation in professional development, attending regularly scheduled faculty and department meetings, and other duties associated with a tenure-track faculty position.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in English with a specialization in rhetoric and composition conferred by August 2026 is required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. Candidates must also exhibit evidence of effective teaching experience at the college level along with evidence of scholarly promise.
