Description:
The Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Information Systems & Business Analytics with an emphasis on Cybersecurity Management, beginning Fall 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and forward-looking cybersecurity initiative with strong institutional support, interdisciplinary collaboration, and access to industry engagement in the New York metropolitan area.
The Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics offers BBA, MBA, and MS programs, including a MS in Cybersecurity Management focused on strategy, governance, and policy, as well as an applied undergraduate minor in Cybersecurity Operations. A Doctor of Business Administration in Cybersecurity Management program is planned for Fall 2027, reflecting the school's strategic investment in this area.
The Zarb School of Business is recognized for its high-quality graduate programs, including nationally ranked Online MBA and Executive MBA programs by U.S. News & World Report.
Faculty engage with the Cybersecurity Innovation and Research Center, a state-of-the-art interdisciplinary hub that supports applied research, industry partnerships, and student engagement.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in cybersecurity management and related information systems areas, maintaining an active research agenda with publications in peer-reviewed journals, and contributing to departmental, school, and university service. Teaching responsibilities may include courses in cybersecurity management (e.g., cyber risk management, cybersecurity governance, cybersecurity technologies and infrastructure, data privacy, or AI in cybersecurity) and, depending on expertise, selected information systems courses (e.g., computer networks, business programming, or systems analysis and design).
Research and Institutional Support
The Zarb School of Business supports faculty research through internal funding opportunities, conference support, and a collegial research environment. Faculty are encouraged to collaborate across disciplines and with industry partners, particularly through the Cybersecurity Innovation and Research Center.
Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate (or ABD) in MIS, CIS, IS, or closely related disciplines from an AACSB-accredited (or equivalent) institution. ABDs in advanced dissertation stages will be considered for a non-tenure track appointment. Tenure-track status requires a degree in-hand by August 2027.
- Demonstrated record of, or strong potential for, publishing in peer-reviewed journals
- Evidence of, or strong potential for, teaching excellence in in-person and online formats
- Commitment to collaborative teaching, research, and student mentoring
