Position Description
The Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University seeks a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Instruction in its Manufacturing Engineering Program, beginning Fall 2026. Preference is given to candidates with expertise in advanced manufacturing techniques and technologies, including AI-based manufacturing, additive manufacturing, robotics, control and instrumentation, composites, simulation, and semiconductor manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Work and/or research experience in one or more of the following areas: Manufacturing Systems Design/Simulation; Robotics; Control Systems; Cybersecurity in Manufacturing; Composites; AI and Machine Learning applications in Manufacturing; Additive Manufacturing; Senior Design Projects.
- Ability to teach in at least two of the areas listed above.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Post-doctoral research experience and/or industry experience.
- Experience teaching and mentoring undergraduate students as well as supporting graduate-level instruction.
- Familiarity with ABET accreditation procedures and documentation.
