Assistant Professor of Instruction – Neuroscience

Position Description
The Department of Neuroscience in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas seeks one (1) full-time Assistant Professor of Instruction to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels in our large and growing Neuroscience programs. We are seeking instructors with expertise in cellular, molecular, and systems neuroscience areas to teach in our Medical and our Research tracks. Candidates with experience in the application of computational methods and/or artificial intelligence to neuroscience are also welcome.
The appointment commences for the fall 2026 semester.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: A PhD or equivalent in Neurobiology, Physiology, Pharmacology, Anatomy or a related field is required prior to employment along with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and service. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.
Preferred Education and Experience: In addition to a PhD degree, competitive candidates would have prior experience teaching undergraduate or graduate neuroscience courses with student evaluations supporting their teaching excellence.
Preferred Education and Experience: Postdoctoral training; 3 years or more employment at a University or in industry/corporate/academic or non-academic settings in the neurosciences.
