Position Details:
The Department of Political Science Texas Christian University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor with specialization in public law and/or judicial politics to begin August 2026. We seek applications from talented teacher-scholars with a record of (or potential for) successful scholarly publication, undergraduate teaching, and academic service. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in Political Science in hand by the start date. The position carries a 3/2 teaching load, competitive salary, and internal research support.

Department Details:
The TCU political science department has 15 full-time faculty members and nearly 400 majors in two undergraduate degrees with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts. TCU political science faculty lead co-curricular programs such as pre-law advising, Moot Court, Model U.N., and Washington and local internships. They also teach and contribute to interdisciplinary programs, including Women and Gender Studies, Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies, Asian Studies, and Middle East Studies. The department is the editorial home to the journal Social Science Quarterly.

School/College Description:
Named for TCU’s founders, Addison and Randolph Clark, the AddRan College of Liberal Arts is home to the core academic disciplines of the humanities and social sciences. The College includes approximately 155 full-time faculty members, 13 departments (Comparative Race & Ethnic Studies, Criminology & Criminal Justice, Economics, English, Geography, History, Modern Language Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Religion, Sociology & Anthropology, Spanish and Hispanic Studies, and Women & Gender Studies), and two units of Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (Army and Air Force). AddRan College departments confer 17 Bachelor of Arts and 7 Bachelor of Science degrees, a Bachelor of General Studies, an online master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, a Master of Liberal Arts degree, and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in History, English, and Rhetoric and Composition.
